We are beginning to offer our Basic Medical Coding Program to members. The cost for the program is $1500, that includes 1 year PAHCS membership (a $120 value) and the CBMCS (Certified Basic Medical Coding Specialist) exam at the end of the program (a $250 value) and the curriculum.
Members enrolled in this course must purchase their own CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS books (can be purchased through Mag Mutual who sells these books at a discount). It's 12 self study "lessons" of instruction. The pre-requisites are a medical terminology course or 2 years in a medical office. This course is specifically designed for non-coding medical office staff who want to learn coding skills. This course will also be beneficial to non-office staff who have had a medical terminology course.
Members enrolled will be sent "Lesson 1" in a pdf format via email and upon completion of that material (completing and sending the lesson exercises to PAHCS) they will be sent the next lesson. Payment options can be arranged by contacting PAHCS at members@pahcs.org or by calling (888) 708-4707.
